Originally, Stevie Nicks was asked to compose and perform a song for the movie, but when she backed out, the director chose the Blondie hit.
April 19th, 1974 – Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band appear at the State Theatre in New Brunswick. Tickets are just $4.50 and the promoter of the event takes a gamble that word-of-mouth will be enough to fill the 550 seats, however, only 250 attend.
April 12th, 1967 - Mick Jagger receives a punch to the face by an airport official at Le Bourget Airport in France. Jagger had lost his temper when The Rolling Stones were all searched for drugs. The ordeal resulted in The Stones missing their flight.
Well, first off the bat, my ribs have never won anything, not a darn thing, no ribbons, no honorable mentions, nothing, but that’s because I never entered them in any contest. They have “won” a few compliments when eaten and that’s a great thing!
March 29th, 1979 - At a Dire Straits show in L.A., Bob Dylan asked Mark Knopfler and drummer Pick Withers to play on the sessions for his next album, Slow Train Coming. Dylan had first heard Dire Straits’ Mark Knopfler when his assistant played him the single ‘Sultans of Swing’.
I first made this recipe back in the mid 80’s while I was living and working for a short time in LA. I was living and hanging out with my Uncle Pete, a great cook in his own right. I was craving the “old world” flavor of a good cacciatore and think I hit upon a recipe that ended up being quite pleasant.
