The Atlantic County 4-H Fair has been a tradition since 1948. Every summer at the beginning of August the Fairgrounds come alive with youth, exhibits and demonstrations, livestock, small animals and shows, carnival rides and contests. For three days, the 4-H Fair invites you to enjoy their "tradition." For the participants, it is a gallery of opportunity divided into spaces showcasing animals, arts & crafts, horticulture, entertainment, and competition. First timers and grand champions compete side by side for ribbons and the chance to become the "best of show." For fair goers strolling along the midway or inside exhibit halls, the fair can be an extravagant exhibition of food, folks, animals, entertainment, and fun.

The Atlantic City Triathlon (TRI AC) offers a sprint distance triathlon, international distance triathlon, and a 5k race benefiting Race2Rebuild. Sprint Distance: (individual and relay) .25 mile swim, 10 mile bike, 5k run. International Distance: (individual and relay) 1 mile swim, 20 mile bike, 5 mile run. 5K: 3.1 mile run.

Lake Tappan Paddle Day is a family-friendly day of paddling on the Lake Tappan Reservoir in Old Tappan, NJ – brought to you through a partnership between Hackensack Riverkeeper and SUEZ- formerly United Water. The event is a fundraiser that supports Hackensack Riverkeeper's clean-water mission, and concludes Riverkeeper's annual Reservoir Paddle Series.

The Salem County Fair, an "Old Tyme" Country Fair, is the oldest County Fair in NJ. There is a BBQ dinner offered every night as well as a staffed food concession and many food trucks. There is a large display of animals from cows to rabbits. Horse activities, including horse pulls and barrel racing, are held nightly as well as antique tractor pulls. You will see the largest display of farm equipment and tractors in NJ. This fair is the only fair situated on a grassy location. There is easy access to the grounds from Route 40.
