ATV driver killed in Millstone Township crash

State police say the driver of an all-terrain vehicle was killed when it crashed into a utility pole.

Two female passengers were critically injured in the crash, which occurred around 10:30 p.m. Friday on Pine Hill Road in Millstone Township.

The driver was identified as 23-year-old Millstone resident Eric Waters. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

His passengers, 23-year-old Kathryn Doe of Long Branch and 23-year-old Karli Schaffner of West Long Branch, were both flown to a hospital. They were both listed in critical condition on Saturday, and further details on their injuries were not disclosed.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
