ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (AP) -- The eight Atlantic City casinos that survived a major shakeout last year are continuing to see an increase in their gambling revenue.

Data released Wednesday by New Jersey regulators shows the casinos won $257.5 million from gamblers last month, compared to $238.3 million in July 2014, for an 8.1 percent jump. The numbers were aided by $12.5 million in Internet gambling winnings, an increase of more than 24 percent over July 2014.

But when the four casinos that were operating in July 2014 that have since closed are included in the calculations, the July 2015 casino revenue fell 6.1 percent from a year ago.

Among the current eight casinos, six saw increases last month. And three of them saw double-digit boosts -- the Borgata and Golden Nugget were both up 19.2 percent, while Resorts was up 20.8 percent.

Meanwhile, revenue fell nearly 12 percent at the Trump Taj Mahal, while Bally's revenue remained stable.

The closings last year of Atlantic Club, Showboat, Revel and Trump Plaza reduced capacity in the Atlantic City market, and have helped the surviving casinos do better with less competition.

Regulators say the casinos have generated $1.47 billion in total gambling revenue so far this year. That's a 4.8 percent increase for the current casinos compared to this time last year, but it becomes a 9.4 decrease when the four shuttered casinos are also included in the calculations.

The Atlantic City casino revenue numbers:

Bally's: $22.7 million, basically unchanged from July 2014

Borgata: $75.6 million, up 19.2 percent

Caesars: $29 million, up 3.1 percent

Golden Nugget: $22.8 million, up 19.2 percent

Harrah's: $36 million, up 1.5 percent

Resorts: $17.3 million, up 20.8 percent

Tropicana: $31.9 million, up 7.5 percent

Trump Taj Mahal: $19.1 million, down 11.8 percent
