Fire officials tell the Asbury Park Press that heavy flames were shooting out of the home when firefighters arrived around 1:50 a.m. Wednesday. And while it appears that the fire started somewhere on the home's exterior, the cause of the blaze remains under investigation.

No injuries were reported.

The six displaced residents all lived in one unit of the home, and authorities said the other unit was vacant. The residents were receiving assistance with housing and other needs from the American Red Cross.

The fire is under investigation by both the city fire marshall and the Monmouth County Fire Marshall's Office
