As the years go on and technology evolves more and more, Jersey schools are dropping cursive handwriting instruction. As well they should. It will soon be on par with calligraphy. A relic.

Just the other day, I had to sign legal documents that were done via computer through e-signature technology. Our children are growing up in a different era and our schools are already burdened with a lack of time to teach what matters.

Does cursive matter? Two lawmakers think so. Sen. Brian Stack and Assemblyman Ron Dancer have legislation to force all schools in New Jersey to go back to teaching cursive in elementary school. Perhaps we should also teach them how to churn butter and work a loom.

It's a quaint idea, gentlemen but I'd prefer you work on something real, like bringing down property taxes or fixing the road repair crisis once and for all.

While this cursive agenda will be debated in Trenton here's what handwriting experts say your own cursive tells about your personality. Don't shoot me, I'm just the messenger:

What Does Your Handwriting Say About You?
