This Newsweek piece turns up every once in a while by a tech writer who doesn't seem too impressed with the promise of the Internet. Particularly comical are his contention that "no online database will replace your daily newspaper", and "no computer network will change the way government works".

I just renewed my web-only subscription to the New York Times and the last time my car registration was due, I renewed it online. He also dismisses cyber shopping and using the Internet to connect with people (Amazon, Facebook).
