Arrest in the Poconos: First News Friday

The manhunt for a cop killer in the Poconos is over this morning. Eric Frien was taken alive last night after seven weeks of searching dense woods and playing cat and mouse with the suspect. He was finally found near an empty airport hanger he was using as a shelter. When police arrested him...they used the handcuffs from the trooper Frien is accused of killing.

There are dozens of New Jersey residents who are being actively monitored for symptoms of Ebola. Health deparment officials confirm none of them have come in direct contact with infected persons and are not quarantined. But they are being monitored daily in thier homes. Health officials would not tell us where the patients live.
The nurse who's become the public face of health care volunteers who're being scrutinized upon returning from West Africa is doing laundry while she waits to learn whether she'll be quarantined until the 21-day incubation period ends on November 10. Kaci Hickox has rebelled against a voluntary quarantine and went for a bike ride Thursday. Her lawyers have been trying to work out an agreement to ease quarantine restrictions.

Meanwhile, the Pentagon confirms any soldier returning from West Africa where they have been helping contain the Ebola outbreak will be quarantined for 21-days when they return to the United States The military policy goes beyond what was recommended by the President.

We can now tell you the 17-year old threatened to shoot fellow students at Woodbridge High School and had access to guns and weapons that were illegally owned by his father. The father of a New Jersey boy who was 4 years old when he killed a 6-year-old neighbor with his father's gun has pleaded guilty to child endangerment. Anthony Senatore of Toms River faces three years in prison. Senatore was charged with keeping a loaded .22-caliber rifle unlocked in his bedroom. That's where his son found it in April 2013, took it outside and shot 6-year-old brandon holt once in the head.

The marjority of New Jersey residents agree with the decision the Sayreville school board made to cancel the varsity football program after allegations of hazing against freshmen players were revealed.
A new Seton Hall sports poll reveals that the Sayreville Board of Education took appropriate action in response to allegations of sexual assault and hazing among seven players of the Sayreville War Memorial High School football team.
Some media reports have been saying the 7 Sayreville football players charged with sex abuse and hazing are all black, and all of the victims are white but a reliable law enforcement source tells Townsquare Media News that is inaccurate, and the Middlesex County Prosecutor insists race has nothing to do with this case. Nevertheless, there are concerns.

The owner of a company that operates rolling chairs on the Boardwalk in Atlantic City has pleaded guilty to defrauding the IRS out of nearly $120,000. Prosecutors say William Boland hid from the government how much his company really made, much of that money is paid in cash.
Closing casinos have been great for the Borgota. Company officials say thier revenue is up almost five percent and they now claim almost a quarter of the entire gaming market in Atlantic City.
