Police are looking for the man they say sexually assaulted a woman just after Thanksgiving in Hackensack.

The sexual assault was reported to police Friday, according to the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office.

Police said the woman reported that a week earlier, on Nov. 27, 2015, she was followed from a bus stop on Main Avenue, near Poplar Avenue in Hackensack, at about 9:30 p.m., by a skinny black male with a medium to dark complexion, short cropped hair, approximately 5 feet and 8 inches in height, approximately 30 to 40 years of age, wearing a bubble vest over a long dark coat, dark-colored jeans and dark colored sneakers.

The man held a handgun in his hand and approached the victim near the intersection Poplar Avenue and Grand Avenue, where he ordered her to give him her money before he sexually assaulted her, police said. He then fled the area on foot.

Authorities are asking anyone with information about the incident or suspect seen in a composite sketch to contact Detective Michael Falato of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit Tips Line at 201-226-5532 or Detective Robert Ghirardi of the Hackensack Police Department at 201-646-7743.
