During his third year he rose to play again, according to the sportswriters. After being out of football the last two years, Tim Tebow has signed with the Philadelphia Eagles.
It wasn’t that long ago in 2011 the Eagles head coach Chip Kelly said “We’re not a Tim Tebow type of quarterback team. Now, Kelly sings a different tune. But what kind of a song will it be for Tim Tebow, the man who once had an 80’s hit rerecorded about him.
Perhaps we can get “Survivor” to change the Rocky hit to “Eye of Tim Tebow” That could happen if Tebow finally accomplishes what he couldn’t do in Denver, or with the Jets, or even in his tryout with the Patriots, learn how to throw an accurate forward pass.
To address his passing inaccuracy, Tebow hired Patriot quarterback Tom Brady’s passing guru Tom House who says the Heisman trophy winning former-first-round draft choice’s accuracy is getting better.
Can this work? Can this born again Christian who taught the world how to “Tebow” and took a Denver Bronco team to the playoffs and beat the Steelers make a comeback with a team who hasn’t won a championship in 55 years?
If Tebow wins in Philadelphia, his fans will greet him with an “Immaculate Reception” (couldn’t resist that joke) If not, it’s a chance for him to get back into the NFL and catch on with a team that could not only use a quarterback, but a feel good story as well.
