Celebrate Jersey Shore Pride! Join the wave of Beach Sweeps volunteers at over 70 sites from Cape May to the Passaic River. Thousands of citizens flock to the beaches from 9 am - 12:30 pm to remove harmful litter before the start of the summer season. Beach Sweeps is the longest running and largest environmental grassroots event in NJ. All ages are welcome to volunteer and make a difference for the marine environment!

Ocean Grove was founded by Methodists who wanted to establish a wholesome, religious atmosphere for summer recreation. They created a set of rules and regulations governing behavior that became famous around the world for being strict even by Victorian standards. You might wonder how anyone managed to have a good time! But they did, and on this tour, you'll learn how. This tour explores the famous tent homes of Ocean Grove, Ocean Pathway, and the boardwalk. The Stirling Street Fair, hosted by the Long Hill Chamber of Commerce, will be held from 10 am - 5 pm (no rain date.) Among the highlights will be ethnic foods, music, a special section with craft exhibitors & artists, antiques, rides for children, games and a petting zoo. Local organizations, including the Long Hill Seniors, will also have tables to pass out literature and to meet and greet residents who want to get more information about the programs and services offered. The Long Hill emergency services, including the Stirling and Millington Volunteer Fire Companies, the Long Hill First Aid Squad, the Police Department, and CERT (Civilian Emergency Response Team), will be represented. Exhibitors are delighted to see the number of visitors that come to the festival. Many of the restaurants have open air seating, there is an area with live music, and a "hands on" free craft section for children (no rides or other festivities for kids are available). This event is juried and has approximately 150 exhibitors, all artists, crafters and photographers, approximately 60% are returning exhibitors.It will feature artisans, craftsmen and photographers displaying & selling a wonderful mix of quality contemporary crafts as well as fine art. There will be original handmade works such as oil & acrylic paintings, watercolors, sculpture, photography, pottery, jewelry, fiber works, metal works, paper, stone, garden works and more. This festival is open from 10 am - 5 pm. There will be many gourmet food vendors selling along the festival site, so come hungry! There will be demonstrations from some of the exhibitors and a live concert.
