After a taste of summer last weekend, it will feel much cooler this weekend across New Jersey.

The weekend gets off to a cold start with a Freeze Watch in effect for most of the state.  Saturday morning temperatures will dip into the low 30s and pose a threat to unprotected early season plants and sensitive vegetation.

A widespread killing frost isn't expected but if you're concerned about your plants, it wouldn't hurt to put a cover on plants as extra protection.

Sunny skies are expected for both Saturday and Sunday. Temperatures will be in the 60s with a slight northwest wind of 5-10 mph.

The only chance at wet weather is in South Jersey which could get brushed by a storm system which creates the chance of some rain in the early morning hours of Sunday.

The current wildfire danger is high according to the New Jersey Forest Fire Service as the return of bright sunny skies on Friday will dry undergrowth, fallen branches and downed trees that act as a fuel. Combined with dry air it won't take much for a wildfire to spread quickly and burn out of control.
