NJ.com reports 26-year-old David Hurling of Westfield was hit shortly before 1 p.m. Monday, just east of the Bridgewater rail station. But further details on the accident were not disclosed, including whether Hurling was on the tracks at the time he was struck.

None of the 35 passengers or crew members aboard the Newark-bound Raritan Valley Line train were injured in the accident. But service on the Raritan Valley Line was suspended for about an hour in both directions due to the incident.

NJ Transit police are investigating the accident.
