A new home furnishings mega store has opened it's second location in Ocean Twp. New Jersey. The first one opened in East Hanover in August and there is another one planned before year's end in Westwood.

It's called HomeSense and it a larger version of it's sister store HomeGoods. When I was married, the only thing I dreaded more than funerals and Christenings was going to a home furnishings store. I would volunteer to take the kids somewhere while she can shop in peace. I would say, "get whatever you like honey, it's alright with me."

No! I had to go and give my input. As husbands to wives, our input really doesn't matter. They just want you there to bounce ideas off of. We don't care. You could have pink pillows all over and white lacey curtains on every window and rugs with you mother's picture on it. We don't care, as long as you like it and we have a place to sit with a decent view of the TV.

But being dragged through these places is like taking your wife who hates guns on a hunting trip. Or taking her to your fantasy football draft night with your work buddies. No, no! We wouldn't do that. We know you're not interested.

Every married man who's had to comply and go to these things is looking more at the other wives in the store than the "beautiful furnishings". Ladies, enjoy these new stores. They look wonderful, but do me a favor, take your sister!
