PITTSTOWN - Another serious accident on Route 78 closed the highway in Hunterdon County.

All westbound lanes were closed for about an hour after the crash. However, as of 11:30 a.m. just the left lane was closed for a police investigation near exit 11 for Pattenburg Road in Pittstown.

The crash involved a vehicle that rolled over, according to a tweet from New Jersey State Police.Eastbound traffic was slow with rubbernecking through the area.

New Jersey State Police spokesman Lt. Jeff Flynn said 2 people were hospitalized via medical helicopter.

Eyewitnesses to the crash posted on the Fire & EMS Alerts of Hunterdon County Facebook page that the vehicle had Florida license plates. Another post to the page said there were eight  injuries.

Last weekend one person died in a crash in roughly the same area on the eastbound side. Ariel Lozano, 32, of Reading, Pa., was killed after being ejected from the 2004 Chevrolet Venture he was a passenger in.
