It's possible she will be named Sunday by her parents, Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge, but there's no fixed timetable for the announcement.

Britain's legal bookmakers say the names Charlotte and Alice have emerged as favorites for the princess, who is fourth in line for the British throne after her grandfather Prince Charles, her father William and her older brother, Prince George. Other top possibilities included Olivia, Victoria, Elizabeth and Diana, the name of William's late mother.

The baby may receive visits from senior royals and grandparents Sunday if her parents are up for it. Kate gave birth Saturday after spending just a few hours at the hospital, then emerged in the early evening looking resplendent with her infant in her arms as William looked on. The baby weighed in at 8 pounds, 3 ounces (3.7 kilograms).

The royal family is expected to spend several days at their London home before traveling to their country home on Queen Elizabeth II's Sandringham estate, 120 miles (190 kilometers) north of London. Officials are not expected to release details about their plans and the family is likely to stay out of the public eye in the coming days.

The princess's birth has mesmerized much of Britain, eclipsing the country's hard-fought election campaign on the front pages of British newspapers. A number of London landmarks including Tower Bridge were lit in pink overnight to commemorate her birth.
