Adoption Monday: Help Kevin find a home!

Welcome back to Adoption Monday!

Every other week, we’ll be welcoming another dog from the Monmouth County SPCA to join Bill Spadea live in the studio. We’re hoping to find each of these dogs homes, and we’re looking for your help.

This week, we'd like you to meet Kevin.

Kevin is about 8 or 9 years, but despite his age, this beagle still knows how to shake things up, according to the Monmouth County SPCA. He is very vocal at times - and the SPCA says there is no mistaking the Beagle in him.

Kevin arrived at the Monmouth County SPCA from an overcrowded shelter in the south and SPCA members say he "knows how to turn on the charm."

"Good luck with trying to get his attention when on a walk as his hound nose is always to the ground exploring everything along the way," the SPCA says. "Beagles have good life span so he has many more years of love to give. At the end of the day this sweet boy just wants to relax and enjoy the good life."

Basic qualifications to adopt a dog:

“These are actually pretty simple, and we strive to help adopters find the right fit for their lifestyle and the traits they wish to have in their new pet,” the Monmouth County SPCA’s Lisa Sandor tells us. “Adopting a pet is a lifelong commitment, so finding the right match is very important. Adopters should have a place to live where they are allowed to have pets. Be able to pay the adoption fee and care for the dog you are adopting-a commitment to care for the dog for its life.”

How to adopt:

The Monmouth County SPCA asks would-be pet parents to visit the Homeward Bound Adoption Center in Eatontown or the Adoption Center at the Freehold Raceway Mall to meet its pets. It only conducts adoptions in person, and asks that you please bring all family members. To receive more information, call the adoption Line: 732-542-5962.
