Philadelphia city officials say a passer-by who found a 5-year-old girl huddled beneath a playground slide nearly 20 hours after she was abducted from a school will receive a $10,000 reward.

Mayoral spokesman Mark McDonald posted on Twitter that Mayor Michael Nutter praised Nelson Mandela Myers for his "sharp eye" and "quick thinking" when he saw the girl in an Upper Darby park in the pre-dawn cold Tuesday.

McDonald says, "Community policing is doing right when (you) see something wrong."

The girl was taken Monday morning from the William C. Bryant School in West Philadelphia.

The $10,000 reward was offered for information leading to the girl's return.

Police are still searching for the stranger who abducted her.
