Motorists are seeing slightly higher prices at the pumps in New Jersey.

AAA Mid-Atlantic says the average price of regular gasoline in New Jersey on Friday was $3.36, up 3 cents from last week.

That's also much higher than it was a year ago, when motorists were paying $2.73.

Meanwhile, the national average price rose 3 cents to $3.47. That's also much higher than the national average from a year ago, which was $2.83.

Analysts say the rising prices at the pump are mostly due to higher crude oil prices, which have been rising in recent days on encouraging economic news from the U.S. and Europe.
