A huge change could be in store for the long-running animated series. There’s a good chance it’s just a negotiating stance, but the word out of Hollywood is that Harry Shearer will no longer be part of The Simpsons as contract talks failed. Shearer is a multi-talented performer, having previously been part of Fireside Radio, Saturday Night Live, and This Is Spinal Tap.

On The Simpsons, he not only voices Mr. Burns, but Kent Brockman, Principal Skinner, Ned Flanders, and Smithers. It would be hard to believe that the show could withstand the loss of that many characters, and I don’t think fans of the show would put up with someone else voicing those people. I hope they reach an agreement, but I have to ask, do you still watch The Simpsons?
