This week's #BlueFriday honorees is a wide group just because there were so many officers that went in to making a very special moment for a young local boy battling a rare disease.

During a special ceremony, 2-year-old Officer Trent Powers was sworn into the department. Trent suffers from Duchenne muscular dystrophy, an incurable disease.

Along side the Spotswood Police, they were also joined by members of Helmetta Police Department, PBA Local 225, the East Brunswick PBA and the South River Police Department, as well.

Our local police, fire and EMS are all fibers of our communities here in NJ. All these officers did this because they care about their community not because they had to. A special thanks to all of our local officers who made such a special day for Trent Powers.
