We're not talking about some actress or actor.  This is about coffee.  I spoke with David Caddock, Assistant Manager at my local Starbucks in Westfield.  That store, by the way, is one of the five top grossing Starbucks in New Jersey.  Here's the news. Starbucks has rolled out a new less intense coffee. Since 54 million Americans slurp java everyday, this may be a big deal.

I just want to set the record straight.  I like my coffee bold. "Strong" in my coffee vocabulary is not an accurate description.  "Strong" , in my opinion, means it's over cooked..burnt.  Yeech.  I'm sure lots of you like your "joe" on the mellow side.  Since it's a law that a Starbucks must be open on every block, I think this piece of news may be relevant.  If you don't pass by a McDonalds or Dunkin' Donuts on your way to work, Starbucks may now be an alternative for you guys who like their coffee a little less bold.  By the way, I think McDonald's coffee is really good.  Known only for their bold brews, Starbucks now offers "Blonde Roast."  Plain and simple, it's a milder version of their traditional blends.  Have I tried it?  No.  Will I try it?  Probably not.  I'm sticking with my bold blends.  Anyway, in this economy it's more cost effective for me to brew my coffee at home.  This is a heads up for you mellow caffeine addicts.  What's your favorite cup of coffee?  Feel free to chime in with your comments.    http://www.thedailymeal.com/starbucks-sell-new-coffee-roast
