Many graduates say that college was a huge learning and growing experience. The four years students spent in college are unlike any other point in their lives - the classes, after school activities, and events are a unique part of the college experience. For a while, living on campus was the only way to get the 'full college experience,' but now this seems to be changing.

There are many advantages to living on campus - classes are within walking distance, campuses have strong security systems, and it allows kids to transition into adulthood because they are living on their own for the first time. Students enjoy the bond they create with their peers in residence halls, and get the opportunity to take part in more on campus activities.

More students are realizing that there are just as many advantages to commuting. One benefit of commuting is that it saves a lot of money. Room and board can be very costly at most colleges. Commuters also enjoy studying from the comfort of their own homes. They can get work done without the distractions that dorm halls bring. Some parents feel that commuting is a safer option for their children. If their kids live at home, they won't be surrounded by the constant temptations that come with college. Commuters feel that they are just as involved on campus as residents are. Many commuting students participate in clubs, sports teams, and Greek life.

Do you think college students have to live on campus to get the 'full college experience?'
