81-year-old NJ woman brutally killed, and this man’s being sought

He's just seen for a few moments. Authorities are hoping that will be enough to help them solve an apparent beating and stabbing death of an 81-year-old woman.

On Feb. 7 at about 10:31 a.m., Jersey City Police were dispatched to a Lexington Avenue residence on a report of an unresponsive elderly female, later identified as Cardenas-Viejo, the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office said.

Police found Cardenas-Viejo on the floor of her living room, unresponsive, with multiple blunt and sharp force injuries, the prosecutor's office said. She was pronounced dead at the scene at approximately 10:53 a.m.

Video surveillance footage picked up the person now being sought, apparently, trying to gain entry to her residence, the prosecutor's office said.
