Marco Guardiola was charged Tuesday with DWI, reckless driving, vehicular assault and other motor vehicle charges.

A 14-year-old girl and a pregnant woman were among eight people injured when the 55-year-old's SUV crashed through a window around 8:45 p.m. Monday.

Jersey City fire and emergency services director Armando Roman says the girl sustained head trauma and two broken legs. She and two others who were hit remained in a hospital Tuesday.

The Jersey Journal reports Guardiola told Judge Richard Nieto on Tuesday that he passed out. He also said, "I'm sick. I need help" and appeared to be on the verge of tears.

Bail was set at $35,000.
