Early this morning in Lincoln Park police responded to a single car accident to find the vehicle fully engulfed in flames. Police quickly pieced it all together. The driver, a 78 year old woman, had been driving while intoxicated according to the authorities, when she lost control of her car and careened off the road, down a gully and into a wooded area. She was issued summonses for careless driving and DWI.

There are obvious questions here. Such as why is a 78 year old woman even out driving at 1:15 in the morning, let alone driving drunk? I long have pushed for the state of New Jersey to recognize the problems with elderly drivers and begin re-testing their driving skills if they want to maintain a license. I just never thought a breathalyzer would have to be part of the re-testing program.
