7-Year-Old Boy Dies After Falling in Septic Tank

There’s no good way for a seven year old to die, but drowning in a septic tank seems particularly gruesome. That’s what happened in Arizona where a seven year old boy was playing near an uncovered septic tank at a trailer park when, according to a witness, he kicked something into the hole and either jumped or fell in after it.

The opening was usually covered with a board but for some reason was left uncovered. It is estimated that the boy was in the tank for around 10 minutes before being extracted by a sheriff’s deputy and fire personnel. Attempts at CPR were intermittently successful, but the boy later died at the hospital.
