Everyone is waiting breathlessly for this baby giraffe to be born April, a mother giraffe at an animal park in New York.

People keep clicking on and watching endlessly for this little creature to make his/her appearance after a 15 month pregnancy! It is a sight to see because of how tall giraffes are.

I've seen a birth on TV and got up close and personal with a few at Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson. In fact, Six Flags' Animal Safari has three giraffe babies — two males and one female, according to Kristin B Siebeneicher, a park spokesperson. The babies were born in August 2016, November 2016 and Jan 1, 2017. The newest baby is named Xena, after the warrior princess. She stands about 5 feet tall and her mom's name is Noel.

So many people in the Garden State are waiting for April to give birth at the New York animal park. Although 15 months is a long time, here in New Jersey we should be used to long waits. For example:

  • Have you ever applied for a gun permit? It's supposed to be 30 days....yeah right!
  • Have you ever waited for an income tax refund from the state of New Jersey?!
  • Have you ever been in the cash lanes at the end of the NJ Turnpike around the holidays?
  • Have you ever tried to leave Giants Stadium right after the game?!
  • Have you tried to get a table at Manco & Manco Pizza in Ocean City at lunch time on a weekend?!
  • Have you driven into NYC at Christmas time through the Lincoln Tunnel?!
  • And if you've ever tried returning something at Toys R US, Geoffrey the Giraffe would tell you, relax, we'll get there!
