First things first, to give credit where it's due, these come from Brendan Kuty, NJ Advance Media for NJ.com. If you'd like to see the original piece with even more info and a slide show of the Captain click here.

Seven things Jeter has never done:

  1. Never been ejected from a game.
  2. He's never reached base via catcher's interference.
  3. He's only had 8 pinch-hit plate appearances and in those never once got an RBI.
  4. He's never played anywhere but shortstop. He's been DH 69 times.
  5. He's never hit for the cycle.
  6. He's never won an MVP. How is this possible? He finished 3rd in voting in 1998, 2nd in 2006, and 3rd in 2009, but never won it.
  7. He's never heard anyone's voice but but Bob Sheppard's announce his name before at-bats at Yankee Stadium. Sheppard died in 2010 and Jeter has had a recording of Sheppard's voice do the honors ever since. "Now batting for the Yankees, No. 2, Derek Jeter. No. 2."
