Police in northern New Jersey say six adults and one juvenile have been arrested and 30 people detained in a large fight at a park in Teaneck.

The Record of Woodland Park reports the fight broke out Thursday night around 11 p.m. in Teaneck's Votee Park.

Det. Lt. Andrew McGurr says police were called to the park by several frantic bystanders who described a big fight near the park's basketball courts.

Police say the melee involved weapons including baseball bats, tree branches and aluminum pipes.

McGurr says one person suffered a large gash to his head.

McGurr says an incident hours later, where a car's back windshield was smashed in with a bat, is believed to be connected to the fight.

Three adults were arrested in that incident.
