The Coast Guard says the 38-foot fishing vessel "Southern Comfort" ran aground while traveling through the Barnegat Light Inlet and began taking on water.

Those aboard the boat got on a life raft and waited for two Coast Guard boats from the Barnegat Light station to arrive. No one was injured.

The fishing boat floated off the jetty and sank with 350 gallons of diesel fuel aboard.

The boat was based in nearby Forked  River. Three of the men aboard are from New Jersey and the others are from Pennsylvania.
