    Don't Run Red Lights

Red light cameras were a hot debate in 2012 and will continue to be this year. Do they make driving safer? Are they an easy money maker for the state? The varying opinions are like watching a rapid fire ping pong match. One thing was for sure, there were flaws. Close to a half-million New Jersey motorists who have been ticketed due to red light cameras could be eligible for a partial refund under the terms of a class-action settlement. The Star-Ledger of Newark reports the $4.2 million settlement works out to a $6 refund on tickets ranging from $85 to $140. According to the Governor, the red light cameras aren't going away anytime soon. ***RESOLUTION:*** Don't run red lights and don't chance the yellow. It's not worth the fine and it's the only way we can fight "the man."

    Be Reality Free

Jersey Shore, The Real Housewives of New Jersey, Jerseylicious, Snooki & J-Woww Take on the World. While at least for now the Housewives are here to stay, it's safe to say New Jersey has enough "reality" to deal with. ***RESOLUTION:*** May 2013 be free of reality TV in the Garden State. After all, we have a reality show of our own: "We Live in New Jersey, You Try It."

    Tan in Moderation

Who knew the "I've just rolled around in Doritos" look was going to make news? Last year we were introduced to a Nutley, NJ mom who unwittingly became the focal point of national criticism after she was wrongfully accused of taking her 5-year-old daughter into a tanning salon with her. At first, parents were horrified at the thought of little children in tanning beds, but the story took a whole new turn when images of Patricia Krentcil surfaced. Her leathery over-tanned skin shocked everyone who saw it and she was instantly dubbed “tanning mom.” Patricia has given the tanning bed and her flesh much needed rest lately. ***RESOLUTION:*** Don't "fake 'n bake" to the point you look like a beat up leather suitcase and become a New Jersey nutcase.

Get Our Own Personalized Chris Christie Fleeces

Governor Christie made national headlines not only for his amazing job with Sandy recovery efforts, but also for his fleece. During his Saturday Night Live appearance he said he was going to die in that fleece and that his wife was getting used to him coming home smelling of "wet fleece." ***RESOLUTION:*** It's a good look, and nothing says your tax dollars hard at work than government purchased and issued fleeces for the entire state.

    Stay Jersey Strong

Let's not dwell in the past. Last year tested our resilience as a state and as a people. But, we're tough folks and we will rebuild. The process has been amazingly fast already. We'll walk the boards this summer, we'll hit our favorite spot at the Shore and life will slowly but surely return to normal. Will it ever be the same? Probably not, but we're Jersey Strong and 2013 will be the strongest year yet. ***RESOLUTION:*** To continue to push forward personally and continue to help our neighbors rebuild their homes and lives. We have each other backs, we're New Jersey.
