5 Kilos of Heroin, Cash Discovered After I-80 Traffic Stop, State Police Say
An Ohio man was arrested in New Jersey after State Troopers discovered 5 kilos of heroin and a large amount of cash in his vehicle following a traffic stop on I-80.
John Foster, 63, of Cleveland, Ohio was stopped Saturday morning at 2:40 a.m. in Knowlton Township headed east on I-80. Foster was driving a 2006 Saturn Vue Sport Utility Vehicle, according to NJ State Police.
During the stop, troopers discovered 5 kilos of heroin and 7 heat-sealed packages of cash hidden in an electronically-activated compartment in the rear cargo area of the SUV.
The heroin is valued at $325,000, and the cash is still pending a count, State Police report.
Foster was arrested and was charged with: possession of heroin; possession of heroin with intent to distribute; money laundering; conspiracy; and being a fugitive from justice for a warrant out of Cuyahoga County, Ohio.
