We all look forward to Memorial Day; the first weekend of heading down the shore, breaking out the grill with family and hopefully enjoying beautiful weather. While that is perfectly fine, we should all take a minute and remember why we celebrate this weekend.

Honor Day

Eagle Oaks Golf & Country Club of Farmingdale will be celebrating the 4th annual "Honor Day" Military Event and Tournament tomorrow (5/24). This year's event will honor approximately 250 active duty Marines of the 8th Marine Regiment for a full day of leisure and golf on this championship caliber course.

The 8th Marine Regiment arrived today aboard the USS Wasp in New York Harbor for the annual
New York City Fleet Week
activities.

Last year's event raised $90,000 for Hope For The Warriors; and Eagle Oaks expects to double the support. Domenic Gatto, Chairman and President of Eagle Oaks commented "It is our privelage and honor to host a well-deserved day of fun and relaxation for these courageous and brave men and women who so valiantly and selflessly serve our country."

The keynote speaker for "Honor Day" will be Major Jason Brezler, USMC and active member of FDNY Ladder Company 58 in Bronx. Major Brezler led Marines into combat operations in both Iraq & Afghanistan.
