4 shot, 1 fatally, in northern New Jersey

EAST ORANGE, N.J. (AP) -- Police and Essex County officials are investigating a shooting incident in which one man died and three others were injured.

East Orange Police say 22-year-old Ahmad M. Crudup, of Maplewood, died shortly before midnight Sunday at University Hospital in Newark.

It happened about 11:30 p.m. Sunday when police responded to reports of gunshots in the 200 block of S. Clinton St.

Officials say the other three victims were male and were treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Their names were not released.

Officials declined to comment further on the incident.
