Four beaches in Monmouth County around Wreck Pond are closed today over concerns about storm water run off.

The Terrace and Beacon Boulevard beaches in Sea Girt and the Brown & York Avenue beaches in Spring Lake were all closed today because of high bacteria levels brought on by the water runoff created by recent heavy rains.

Offcials in both towns expect the beaches to be open tomorrow as long as we don’t get addtional heavy rain today. There is a chance of thunderstorms in the forecast as a cold  front moves through the area expected to break our current streak of 90 degree days and high humidity.
