New Jersey State Police Sgt. 1st Class Gregory Williams says a family from New York was driving southbound on the Turnpike near exit 5 in Westampton Thursday when the accident occurred.

He says the three young children were not wearing seat belts and that one was ejected from the car after it overturned and struck a tree stump. The three were taken to Cooper Hospital's trauma center. He says their injuries were not considered life threatening.

Williams says that the preliminary investigation found that the front passenger side tire malfunctioned before the accident.

He says that the two parents in the front of the SUV were not seriously injured.
