SOUTH PLAINFIELD (AP) — Police are investigating a third home invasion robbery in Middlesex County in less than ten days.

The latest incident took place on Tuesday night in South Plainfield.

Police say suspects entered a rear door during the early evening hours and robbed a family.

Two home invasion robberies occurred earlier this month in Old Bridge. In the first, children were in the home and a resident was injured in the second.

Old Bridge Police Capt. Robert Weiss Jr. tells the Home News Tribune there is a strong possibility the crimes in both towns were committed by the same suspects.
