An accident involving three tractor trailers led to long delays on eastbound Route 78 Wednesday morning.

The crash, east of Exit 7 for Route 173 in Bethlehem, backed up traffic almost back to the Pennsylvania border, according to New Jersey Fast Traffic’s Bob Williams.

“Route 173 picked up a lot of the traffic from people who got off at Exit 3 to get out of the delay,” Williams said.

New Jersey State Police spokesman Sgt. Jeff Flynn said one of the trucks jackknifed across two lanes. One of the trucks involved leaked antifreeze, which was cleaned up by the Bloomsbury Fire Department, according to Flynn.

The circumstances of the crash are not known, but Flynn said there were no injuries resulting from the incident.
