ANDOVER — Three teens who attend Long Pond School have been charged in connection with an Instagram post and the accompanying "alarming comments" toward students, police said.

In an announcement of the arrest, police said only the Instagram post included a picture of Andover Schools — it didn't say what messages the comments contained. Two of the juveniles were from Andover Township, and another from Andover Borough.

"The detective and officers were able to locate the source of the posting and identify and charge those responsible," police said.

The teens, ages 13 and 14, were charged with cyber harassment, and with harassment. They'll have a court appearance in Sussex County Superior Court "in the near future," police said.

Police stressed there was no credible threat to the school, but said law enforcement would be taking additional measures to ensure students' safety.
