3 people shot at park during Father’s Day cookout

JERSEY CITY, N.J. (AP) -- Jersey City police say three people have been shot during a Father's Day cookout.

The shooting happened Sunday night at Mercer Park on the border of Jersey City and Bayonne.

Police have not released the names or ages of the victims, who were taken to a hospital. Their conditions were not immediately available.

Witnesses say they initially thought they heard firecrackers, but soon realized the sounds were actually gunshots.

No arrests have been made. Police continue to investigate.
