Trenton police say detectives were on patrol early Sunday when they suddenly had to swerve to avoid colliding with a car driven by 21-year-old Justin Shelton of Hamilton.

The car was soon stopped, and authorities discovered it had been reported stolen. They also allegedly found a $50 bill in the center console containing marijuana and cocaine.

Shelton and two others in the car -- 22-year-old Trenton resident Otis Roberts and a 16-year-old boy -- were all arrested on charges of receiving stolen property. Shelton and the teen also face drug charges.

It wasn't known Monday if any of three have retained attorneys.
