28 Students Injured in NJ Bus Accident
28 students were hospitalized for minor injuries following a school bus accident in North Brunswick.
NJ.com reports that Bryan Cushman, 26, of North Brunswick rear-ended the bus as it turned from George Road onto Route 130.
“The bus started to move forward, stopped and the driver of the Wrangler wasn’t paying attention and ran into the back of the bus,” police Lt. Gina Braconi told the newspaper.
ABC 7 reports the the students headed to North Brunswick High School were hospitalized as a precaution after the accident which took place at 7:30 a.m. “Most of the children were complaining of pain or were being taken to the hospital for observation,” Braconi told NJ.com, who says many parents came to the accident scene upon hearing about the accident.
The students were all wearing seat belts according to Braconi, and says Cushman received "multiple summones" for the incident.
