PENNSAUKEN — A 25-year-old Camden man has been charged with trying to hook up with a 14-year-old girl in a park for sex.

Pedro Rodriguez was arrested Thursday afternoon after trying to lure who he believed was the teenage girl to Cooper River Park, investigators said.

The Camden County Prosecutor's Office said Rodriguez began sending sexual messages to a real girl before undercover detectives took over the conversation with him.

He was charged with second-degree luring, second-degree attempted sexual assault, third-degree attempted child endangerment and fourth-degree criminal sexual contact with a minor.

New Jersey 101.5 did not know Friday whether Rodriguez had an attorney who could speak on his behalf.
