Four of New Jersey's legendary eateries made it onto a list of top casual restaurants compiled by the website The Daily Meal.

They included the Tick Tock Diner in Clifton, Papa's Tomato Pies in Robbinsville, White Manna in Hackensack and the White House Sub Shop in Atlantic City. We asked our listeners where they would take someone from out of town to three casual spots in our state for real Jersey food. Here are some of the trios:

  • The Committed Pig (burgers) in Manasquan & Manalapan
  • Bagel Hut in Matawan
  • Lubrano's (pizza) in Wall/Manasquan
  • Capped Sized Café
  • Francesco's Subs in Raritan
  • Vinnies Clam Bar (seafood) in Raritan
  • Char Steakhouse in Raritan & Red Bank
  • Mud City Crabhouse in Manahawkin
  • Mancini's Pizza in Montclair
  • The Crab's Claw Inn in Lavalette
  • Several spots on Ferry St. (Portugese food) in Newark
  • Playa Bowls (healthy beach fare) in Belmar/Manasquan, etc.
  • Bubbakoos Burritos several Monmouth/Ocean Counties
  • Surf Taco in Belmar, Jackson & Forked River
