Check Out This Week's Top Three Choices!

Paint Your Own Pumpkin in Kenilworth! On Friday Oct. 16 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. go to 131 South 31st street and pumpkin paint! The cost is $5, or $10.99 all day. Adults are free. Pumpkin painting starts at 4 p.m. in a private party room, but you can go out and play anytime. Price includes admission, pumpkin and all the materials that are needed. 

On Saturday, Oct. 27 go to the Wildwood Boardwalk for the Wildwoods Boardwalk Pumpkin Run!  Come dressed in your favorite Halloween costume to win prizes! The categories are categories of Family, Youth, Infant, and Best All Around. The event has a 5k and 10k run, there will also be a 1 mile family walk! The pumpkin run is rain or shine. Registration beings at 8:30 a.m. inside the Wildwoods Convention Center. All proceeds benefit the Elementary Schools of the Wildwoods.

On Saturday, Oct. 31 at Lanes in Sea Girt join the Zombies for "The Zombie Wedding!" The Zombie Wedding is an interactive play. Tickets are $20 to $30 in advanced, and $25 to $35 at the door. The Zombie Wedding is the same producer of "Tony n' Tina's Wedding." The show show scene is after the Zombie apocalypse in America. During the reception the living mingle with the undead which leads to events.  Go dressed up like a zombie or arrive early and the make up artists will do it for you! After the show there will be a dance party.

Mays Landing Halloween Parade
You’ll see marching bands, football teams, cheerleaders and Cub Scouts. The Cub Scouts will even be collecting canned food for the local food pantry to help those in need. So bring a can or two, a chair and have a great time!

Bergen County
Halloween at the Meadowlands
This is an annual event! It includes hayrides, a Creepy Creatures of Halloween Spooky Walk, the Witch’s Den,  games, and crafts. Walks are recommended for children -12 and are approximately 30-40 minutes. Registration is required and is available online only. Space is limited. Don't forget to dress up in your Halloween costume!

Haunted Forest at Tenafly Nature Center
Tours depart every 15 minutes. It's best to arrive when its still light out to  meet several live forest creatures. After dark, see how the creatures adapt to their environment. Each group will have a guide, and the tour lasts about 1.5 hours. The tour is entertaining and educational – not scary – perfect for people of all ages who love animals. There will be  complimentary refreshments and crafts around the campfire. This is a rain or shine event. It is recommended to be pre-register.

Hasbrouck Heights Annual Ragamuffin Parade
This is an annual Halloween Parade. The parade will begin at the Public Safety Building (248 Hamilton) and proceed along the Boulevard to the Senior Center. In case of rain, go directly to the Senior Center.

Westwood Halloween Ragamuffin Parade
Preschoolers to third grade are welcome to join the parade. It ends at the Community Center where there will be entertainment and goodies. If it rains, the parade will be cancelled but still go to the Community Center (on Jefferson Ave) for the program at 10 a.m.

Zoo Boo 2015 at the Bergen County Zoo
Boo Zoo will have Trick-or-Treating in the zoo, Ghostly Storytelling , Magic Shows and the Eerie Express Train ($5 for all riders – Train runs from 6:30-9:30 p.m. each night, not recommended for young children). Advanced ticket purchase is required. Tickets on sale October 1st. $6 each for ages 3 & up.

Ramsey Halloween Parade & Costume Contest
Trophies will be awarded for the best costumes. Everyone will receive a treat following the costume contest. In the event of rain, all festivities will be held in the high school auditorium.

Palmyra Halloween Parade
The parade features costumed individuals and groups, floats, marching bands, entertainers, horse-drawn carriages, police and fire vehicles.  Prizes will be awarded at Legion Field where there will also be goodie bags, entertainment, and hotdogs for sale!

Moorestown Halloween Parade
Parents are invited and encouraged to march and wear costumes as well. A judging stage will be set up at Stokes Hill  and prizes will be given for best costumes in various categories. The event will have a DJ, moon-bounce, face painters, and a balloon artist.

Bordentown Halloween Parade
Parade features costumed masqueraders, marching bands, classic cars, fire trucks, and floats. Participants and parade-goers are asked to support the Kiwanis of Bordentown Annual Sock Drive by bringing new packaged socks that will be collected along the parade route. The Kiwanis hope to collect 1000 pairs of socks.

Medford Halloween Parade
This parade is a 69-year tradition. The Medford Halloween Parade have over 10 marching bands, 40 hand-built floats, hundreds of costumed marchers and draws in 20,000 spectators yearly.

Halloween Bash at PAWS Farm Nature Center
The event features a crafts, games, a “spooky maze”, haunted house (not gory), and costume parade with prizes. Children will also receive a snack. Admission is $10 for participants who are pre-registered or $15 on the day of event. Accompanying adults are free.

Cape May Halloween Parade
The Parade travels down Carpenter's Lane onto Ocean Street and then down Washington Street where it ends at the Emlen Physick Estate. At the end there will  be a little party for the participants. Register at 1:30 p.m., Judging starts at 2p.m., Parade begins at 3 p.m.Awards will be given in many different categories like groupings, and age ranges. Bring a bag for trick or treating on the Washington Street Mall which starts at Noon.

Refreshments and a Halloween treat will be available for all participants after they have passed by the judges’ table.

Nature of the Night Halloween Hike & Campfire
Explore the ecology of night and magic of Halloween at the annual family-friendly night hike on the Watershed Reserve. Early sessions are reccomended for families with younger children. Once the sun goes down, a little more spookey fun is included for older children. The hike includes a campfire in the woods with stories and roasted marshmallows. Guided hikes are every 20 minutes; last hike begins at 8 p.m. Pre-registration and pre-payment required. Prices: $10 per person or $25 per family

74th Annual Toms River Volunteer Fire Company #1 Halloween Parade
The Toms River Volunteer Fire Company #1 Halloween Parade is the second largest Halloween Parade in the world. Each year, this New Jersey Halloween parade boasts over 6,000 participants and over 100,000 spectators. It’s recommended that spectators arrive 2 hours prior (bring blankets and chairs).
