SEASIDE HEIGHTS — A 2-year-old girl fell from the balcony of a Seaside Heights motel on Saturday night.

Seaside Heights Police Detective Steve Korman said the girl fell from the second floor of the Skyview Manor Motel on Dupont Avenue around 8 p.m. The girl, from Reading, Pennsylvania, was found conscious and crying on the ground when police arrived.

Korman said the girl went through the balcony where a spindle was loose, falling 17 feet to the ground below. A parent was located on the balcony during the time of the incident.

The girl was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune where she was treated for minor injuries and was expected to be released on Sunday.

Korman did not say if charges have been filed.
