2-Year-Old Drowns in Ocean County Pool

Police are investigating the fatal drowning of a 2-year-old in a pool in the Ocean Acres section of Manahawkin.

The child's uncle was performing CPR inside the front door  of the home on Buccaneer Lane late on Wednesday afternoon Stafford Township Police arrived after getting a 911 call according to the Press of Atlantic City.

Ocean County Prosecutor's Office Spokesman Al Della Fave tells the newspaper that the child was watching TV in a back room of the house during a visit with  grandparents and wandered outside to the pool area. The Press reports the child's grandmother looked in the background and found the body floating in the deep end of the pool.

The child was pronounced dead at Southern Ocean Medical Center.
