PARSIPPANY (AP) — Two teenage runaways from Pennsylvania were injured when the stolen vehicle they were in crashed during a high-speed police pursuit in North Jersey.

State police say the pursuit started shortly before 3 a.m. Saturday.

Troopers looking for the vehicle found it traveling eastbound on Route 80 in Rockaway. When they attempted to stop the vehicle in Denville, the driver allegedly slowed down and erratically moved to the shoulder before accelerating back onto the highway.

The stolen vehicle exceeded 100 mph during the chase and eventually crashed in Parsippany. The 16-year-old driver and the 14-year-old passenger were both ejected from the vehicle and were being treated at hospitals for undisclosed injuries.

Both teens were charged with receiving stolen property and eluding. Further information about them has not been released.
