TRENTON —Police are continuing to investigate the shooting deaths of a 16-year-old and an adult male from Trenton who were killed outside a city gas station early Sunday morning.

The Mercer County Prosecutor's Office says three people were shot, two fatally, outside the Shell gas station on the corner of Greenwood Avenue and Chamber Street. Police responded to the station  at 3:16 a.m. Authorities say when officers arrived, they found 21-year-old Kordrese Robinson and 16-year-old Jahday Twisdale  lying in the parking lot. Both had suffered gunshot wounds to the head. Emergency medical crews responded and both victims were pronounced dead at the scene.

A third man also suffered a gunshot wound and was taken to a local hospital by a private vehicle and was undergoing treatment, the prosecutor's office said Sunday. The individual was identified only as a 19-year-old Trenton man.

"At this time, no arrests have been made," Casey DeBlasio, a spokesperson for the prosecutor's office said.

The Mercer County Homicide Task Force is investigating the shootings and asks anyone with information to call the task force at 609-989-6406 or the Trenton Police Department's confidential tip line at 609-989-3663. Tips can also be sent by texting TCSTIPS to Trenton Crime Stoppers at 274637.

Authorities say they plan to release the identities of the victims sometime Sunday.
